If you have an idea for a robot or electronics project that you’d like to come to life, you can make it happen at our school’s Robotics and Engineering Club where both the wealth of expertise and the equipment of our ASTEM Academy is at your fingertips.
Even if you have no prior experience, we can teach you a variety of skills including programming, electronic circuits, 3D design (and 3D printing), and more based on your interests. All are welcome, whether you are in our ASTEM Academy or not. For students in or planning to take our Engineering classes, this also gives you extra time to work on your projects and cultivate your skills.
The club meets every Tuesday at 2:05 PM right after school in room 110. Shortly after everyone signs in and has a snack, we move over to room 114 where we have all of our equipment and begin working.
Currently, we are in the middle of our annual robotics competition. Each team builds a robot to compete in an event called Sumo; in short, everyone tries pushing each other out of the ring and the last robot still standing inside wins. If any of this sounds interesting to you, whether you’d like to join the competition or work on your own project idea, be sure to stop by!
